This facility has a bit of everything we look for when renting a place to host a retreat. They are one of the larger Hawaiian retreat rental facilities on the Big Island. Their main building has six rooms, large kitchen, large dining lanai and open-air yoga/meditation room. They have six additional private cottages on property when you need more space which. The rooms are nice and the cottages are Hawaii-style rustic in a good way. When it comes to the Hawaii-vibe this is the place we loved most. The facility has a ‘secluded’ feel but only 20 minutes from Kona. They overlook Kealakekua Bay where you will often see dolphins swimming during the day. What makes this place uniquely special is it is in direct alignment to a very powerful vortex which will offer your retreat participants a powerful healing and rejuvenation experience!

If you are needing your retreat to have a getting back to basics / get away from it all experience, then this is the place. The property is quite isolated and surrounded by a recent lava flow. They have full time staff and a chef available for catering vegan meals. The 11 separate cabins have all been built by hand and more of a primitive/rustic design to be in harmony with nature. Their gathering space has more than 1000 square feet of floor space to hold about 20 people on yoga mats. When you come arrive, you will see how interwoven and intune they are with Mother Nature and how much they respect the Aloha Spirit.

Now this facility is very, very secluded. If you need a place that you give the group a true “get away from it all” and you do not have to worry about neighbors, then take the journey to this place. Resting at a higher elevation your participants will have cooler weather being nestled within a private 24 acre native Hawaiian Ohia and Koa forest. The facilities are fine and clean but older in design and amenities. They are off-grid which can be a bonus for some. The 9,000 square-foot facility has 10 bedrooms and 5 baths. A wrap-around Lani for meals. They have a 30 foot round room for yoga or meditation or enjoy taking your retreat out on the land with the surrounding trees.

This is facility is ideal for groups smaller than 10. They are located on the western slope of Hualalai volcano. They grow a large amount of the food in their organic gardens on the property and will share with their guests. They have created a holistic and sustainable model of living harmoniously with the earth, with a very light carbon footprint, and giving back as much as possible to the aina. They’ve incorporated composting, catchment, use of recycled materials, solar power, and of course recycling and reusing as many items as they can. The owners are all 100% vegan and require all their guests to adopt a vegan/vegetarian diet while they stay there. To show respect to their property the owners are kind yet very particular and have a 3 page rule book of requests when staying at this facility.
